Pale gold tinged through with green, fading to a water white rim. An intense, nose of power and complexity, with great concentration and depth. Lots of yellow plum, greengage and lemon curd fruit with notes of smoky vanilla, cream, chestnut honey and star anise. The palate is full, rich, intense and powerful too, but with a really fine, well defined, acidic structure. There are plenty of citric lemon and lime notes, and some mineral and saline elements, but also hints of honey, marmalade and butter that lead into a long, supple finish.
